    I thought I’d share with you a recent prep/edc item I’ve found many uses for.

    Here’s the write up;

    Ranger bands are a popular multi-purpose accessory for bushcraft, EDC and tactical applications
    Can be used for securing gear to prevent rattling, attaching foliage for camouflage, tidying up loose webbing straps, waterproof seals around container lids, suppressing reflection of metal objects, adding extra grip to smooth handles – even making catapults!

    Once lit, one of these bands will burn for around two minutes, making it a great firelighter- you get pretty bad fumes off it though, so I wouldn’t recommend it except in emergencies!!

    A good snug fit around an Altoids tin, a common choice for survival kits..

    There are some YouTube videos showing application uses.

    Approx 42 x 20mm (approx 1 11/16” x 13/16”)
    Cut from new cycle inner tubes
    They stretch to around 150mm (approx 6”) before breaking

    I keep finding new uses for these bands – I’m never going to lose the straw off a can of WD-40 again
