I posted this question in the “Show your Leatherman Mods” thread but figured it’ll get more exposure in it’s own thread:

I’ve got a Skeletool that’s seen better days. It was given to me by a coworker who wrung it out pretty well over several years. Plier tips are ground down from holding parts at the grinder, rust in several spots, etc.

Does anyone know if the bit driver from the Skeletool is the same as in the Wave and others? I’d like to swap it into my Wingman/Sidekick. I’ve seen the mod where a Wave’s bit driver was swapped in and I’m hoping it’s the same part, just riveted into the skeletool handle in different spots. I can’t tell whether the driver in the Skeletool has the pivot hole in the right place since it’s covered by sheetmetal on both sides. I’d hate to drill out the rivets unless I’m sure it’ll work since it’ll effectively kill the tool.
