I just got a brand new Maxpedition Proteus and as an every-day waist-pack/butt-bag, it really seems like the H-strap is not just useless, but in my way every time I need to get into the two main pockets. .

Before I start chopping up my brand new bag, I figured I should ask if anyone has any non-destructive solutions for this…? Or any other reason not to just snip off the H-strap…?
