    Hi everyone,

on my way to work this morning (bicycle commute) I lost my old-school 20 dollar beater phone…
Since I was looking for something a little better anyway I’m going for a smartphone now.
Simply because I also need a device to listen so my music on the go using Spotify. Currently I’m using a borrowed iPod.
Like everything I have and use it should be rugged and moderately priced (as you can see above, stuff gets lost). I’m not going to keep it in my bum bag or work pants on construction site anymore, I can keep it in my bag I take with me on site. I don’t want it to be huge, though.

    My specs in a nutshell:
    – rugged
    – low budget
    – rather small
    – sturdy case available (like lifeproof, otterbox, griffin, etc.) would be great plus
    – can play spotify (probably any system can do)

I’ve been looking at Motorla Defy+… don’t really know anything about modern cellphones. My roomie (app programmer) strongly recommends apple, but I can’t wrap my head around the idea of carrying a 600 dollar electronic device around in my environment and I simply don’t have the cash.

    Would appreciate help…

    Danny

Btw: does anyone know if the so-called outdoor phones are actually more rugged? Or is it just marketing?
