    Hello to all.

I discovered this forum just recently recently. Oddly enough, it was because of my Spyderco Manix 2 sprint run search that lead me here.

Let me tell you a little about what lead me to this question.

As a Lifeguard & BoyScout in my teens, I had keep an active First Aid certification along with a First Aid kit in my vehicle. Unfortunately, in recent years, I let that mindset and tools falter and fade.

That mindset began to return to me when a friend and I happened upon an accident last year involving a car and a teenager on a scooter. Luckily my EagleScout friend who worked in medical transportation had an advanced FAK in his trunk. The teen was in shock laying on the pavement but not loosing blood. We were able to keep him still and alert until the Ambulance arrived on location.

After that incident, I realized that if it was just me in my vehicle and the situation had been a little worse, I would have been quite unprepared. Needless to say, I have carried a well supplied FAK in my vehicle ever since.

More recently, this Easter in fact, while my vehicle was in the shop, I hitched a ride out to my Grandparents place with my little sister. Now, my Mothers side of the family uses any holiday with decent weather as an excuse for trap and target fun. As an avid gun lover/shooter, this is the best way to spend a holiday. While setting the clay pigeon thrower for an elimination trap match with my uncles, I thought I had correctly set the throwing arm. Well, the latch did not catch correctly and the throwing arm hit a few fingers on my left hand.

I was lucky that I didn’t break any of those fingers but I did have a decent amount of bleeding occurring. Unfortunately, my FAK was in my vehicle and all my grandparents had were small bandaids and a guaze pad or two. And again, I found myself unprepared.

Now, on to the topic of my post.
I recently purchased a Maxpedition Jumbo EDC versipack to store a EDC FAK along with other items I have thought about carrying daily.

For right now, I have my EDC FAK in a ziploc bag in the main compartment. What I am looking for is a med pouch/zip pouch to better organize my FAK. I don’t want something too large, but something that takes up half the space in the main compartment would work just fine as well.

I would appreciate any and all suggestions you guys have.

    Thanks,

    Wes
