I got the free Pocket Trauma Kit with my latest Maxpedition purchase from lapolicegear.com. The “Trauma Kit” comes in a sealed waterproof bag. There was no description on the outside listing the contents. I was pleased to see that it was packaged by AMK. Being a medical professional myself, I wanted to know what was in the pack before needing it one day. I was pretty disappointed with the contents. Below is a list of what it included:
– 1 package containing 2 4×4’s
– 1 package containing 1 combine pad
– 1 package containing 2 2×2’s
– 1 triangular bandage
– 1 small roll of cling
– 1 small roll of duct tape
– 1 plastic bag with a pair of exam gloves and biohazard sticker
– 4 antiseptic wipes

This hardly qualifies as a basic first aid kit, much less a “Trauma Pack”. I was optimistically expecting at least a quick clot dressing and more gauze. I am glad I opened the kit ahead of time to see what was inside before actually needing it. Being that it was free eases the disappointment. The most valuable part of the kit is the triangular bandage and duct tape.
