I am trying to build a FAK but when I read several FAK related threads I realized I have to learn a lot before.

One thing is to know what each item is used for. Can you guide me to a thread or link that explains the use of every item ( including some OTC medications ? )

Next, please recommend for me what would you consider to be a real complete FAK that is syuitable for a family of 5.

This is not EDC and it can be in any type of container ( wall cabinet, bag, ..etc. ) but the mobile options are preferred.
