Well, I wasn’t really sure where to put this but I guess it’ll stay here until a moderator sees fit to move it.

I bought an eddie bauer backpack a few years ago. The thing has held up very well but there’s this little zippered pocket on the bottom that has a “backpack tarp” attached to the inside of the pocket with some elastic in it. I’ve never needed and it has seemed like a perfect waste of a pocket.

Well, today I was thinking about my not really having a decent first aid kit with me and it struck me to cut the dang tarp out and put something useful there. Right now, I’ve stashed a few gauze pads, some bandaids, couple feet of medical tape and a couple small packets of bactiracin in there. (among other things like a garbage bag, ducttape, needle and thread, rubber bands, fresnel lens, replacement blade for utility knife, matches, and some money).

What else do I really need? I’m planning on adding some alcohol wipes and nitrile gloves and I _always_ have my micra with me for scissors.
