Not exactly breaking news but this has hit my radar in the last week. Word is that someone at Ruger is expecting there will be NO semi-auto handguns for sale in CA in two years. This is in response to the CA law requiring microstamping, a technology not yet fully developed. Both Smith & Wesson and Ruger have simply decided to not comply and stop doing business there.
I’ve been expecting this for a decade, not necessarily over microstamping but something. There’s enough rediculousness coming out of Sacramento that someone was going to get fed up sooner or later.
So what do you think? Are they doing a good thing by standing on principle? Or are they cutting their own throats with this move?
