KeymasterJust let it pop out from between your thumb and finger.
I went to get the 32g card out from my dash cam when it popped off from my fingers. I heard it hit something and thought I had it located. I looked and looked around in my car and never found it.
Right now I have a new one in shipment from Amazon.

KeymasterI’ve come close to loosing mine too. My dash cam is in an awkward spot as it is, once the sd card pops out it usually goes flying.

KeymasterPut a small piece of tape on one side and fold the top over itself, like a tab. Then you will be able to hold the card as you pop it out. It might help if you use bright colored tape as well.

KeymasterGonna have to try that tape idea and that it fits. never had that problem before as I did it numerous times but this time it shot out between my fingers like I had grease on it.

KeymasterThe size of these things is what makes em both great and terrible at the same time! I have loads of em and i make darn sure they never have to travel more than a couple inches between applications/storage…. ive lost too many already :'(
This thing is freaking great tho:September 29, 2025 at 7:21 am #26964admin
KeymasterI had an idea that I could glue two sd cards back to back. Not only I have something to grab but doubled the capacity too. :p
(I don’t mean at the same time guys)

KeymasterI still can use it so not all is lost. I have two cameras that’ll work with it. I’ll have to wait til next month when I get my checks.

KeymasterHmmm, maybe paint it with nail polish so that it’s easy to see?

Aw yeah, I love this thing. Super slim. Sometimes I keep it on my keyring. I had one die though, I think static may kill it. I have a 64GB card in it now. Waiting for a 128GB to arrive.September 29, 2025 at 7:22 am #26978admin

That’s not going to work. You won’t find the old one to you purchase an exact replacement. It usually helps if you overpay for the replacement and buy it from someone who does not accept returns. :pI have had micro SD cards go flying from cameras, so I usually eject them over a table or desk. I guess with a camera installed in a car, though, you don’t have many options. Depending on the design of the SD slot in the camera, you may not even be able to stick a piece of tape on the card. Some of those slots are pretty tight.

More often than once ive launched cards across the room but luckily im blessed with a cat that goes absolutely bonkers over anything that flies so its very very easy to pinpoint where the tiny card landed…. also works for tiny screws, springs, bearing balls, anything tiny that moves really (but for some reason i have to point out a piece of food four times before the cat manages to locate it straight under her nose… hmmm….)

Weak springs are just as bad, if not worse – I have a camera that requires SAK pliers to extract the SD card. They should include a manually operated lever that physically pushes the card forward.

KeymasterOh like those laptop expansion card slot clicky push buttons back in the day? Would be nice, but i guess at microsd card scale it would just be too fragile and/or too costly to manufacture.

KeymasterThis morning I decided to open all four doors, get on my knees and start groping. Still didn’t find it but I saw holes in the floor like for the track brackets and seat belt brackets and thought yep in there, ain’t gonna get it.
