Remember Steve Martin’s reaction in the Jerk to the new phonebook?
yeah well that was yesterday for me, without the jumping.
My Beefy was supposed to arrive last week before Snowmaggedon.
and i checked the tracking number everday and it never changed.

It showed up in yesterday’s mail and i put off opening the box until i put my feet up at 10:30. Once I did that I started the jigsaw puzzle phase, by trying to insert the contents of only two of my edc pouches…the fixit edc and the electronc attachments edc.
I am discovering that it is happiest with items that are longer and of a uniform shape and thickness. This is my 1st attempt, as i live with it, i will try to massage the contents into a less awkward conformation.

Chunky things like rolls of tape, power adapters, magnifier, tape measures are very problematic right now. i don’t like them loose, i will look at adding clips to them to secure them to the straps.

Small items are always a challenge. A long time ago, i started using Acrylic Baseball Card containers for uncluttering small items. Here you can see it fits in the Beefy just fine.
it contains push pins, paperclips, adhesive putty, superglue, hair elastics (which work great for all sorts of cable bundling and dont get tangled), double stick foam ‘tacks’, Shower curtain hooks, (poor mans quick carabiner) and some sugru packets. (i need to replace my zipties)

    so far:

Front pocket:Mophie recharger for iphone, 30 pin adapter extender.

Left: Work knife, scissors, photo glue stick, bic, bone folder, radio shack forceps, scalpel, reversible screwdriver(which doesn’t fit well, i will get the stanley pen), notebook, shammy rag.

    Center: gorilla pod

Right: smalls container, fabric tape measure, gorilla tape, iStabilizer mount smartphone tripod mount, targus zippered memory pouch which includes: microusb cable, sd cards,iFlash LED iphone camera flash, external mini microphone , angle adaptaper for 3.5mm plug.

    Not pictured: but loose:
6″ stanley tape measure, roll of scotch tape.

    Still to add:
Stanley 4 in one screwdriver, Streamlight micro stream, some gear from my pencil case: Sharpie markers, highlighters etc, I may replace these lightweight forceps with my surgical grade ones as these will twist under torque, but i am looking to avoid adding the weight.
one of the reasons i have avoid adding a multitool..i want something moderately sized, not a keychain,(i have a micro leatherman), but not a full sized tool (i have full sized tools in the truck), I am looking at a gerber/bear multitool.

I look forward to living with My Beefy for a long time, and i am wicked glad I upgraded to this size. It actually matches up well with the black case I have for my papers, notebook and Kindle Fire.
