I have a Samsung Tablet with the usual apps like Whatsapp, twitter, Instagram ..etc.
I am trying to (sign off) or (log off) Wahtsapp only, so that when Wi-Fi is active, messages can still be received from Instagram, Twitter ..etc. but messages from Whatsapp are not received nor saved in the device.

    Is that possible ???

I don’t want to uninstall WhatsApp, because I may need it again a few weeks or months later. I may need to write my brother ..etc. So, I wish to keep the App and the chat list, but in a “sleeping mode ” sorta.

    How to do this ?

If it is similar to an iPhone, you can switch off mobile activity of any app in the settings. But I am not sure, what will hapen then, if WiFi is available.
You should check Whatsapp in your settings. There you find a lot of switches, also a “background updating” and other restrctions. With everything set to off, Whatsapp should stay calm, until you open the app again.

Settings, data usage, select the app and check restrict background data which limits the app to wifi. You can reverse the change for the app to use the mobile network whenever you need to send/receive messages.
