I was a little careless when removing my thumbdrive and now all my files are corrupted. It looks as if a little child found the character map and was playing around. I’m having trouble finding a free recovery software, most of what I have found were free trials that allow you to see the recovered files but not actually retrieve them  I don’t want to pay upwards of $50 to recover files that aren’t of extreme importance.

Is there any free, reliable, recovery software for corrupted thumbdrives? I did find one freeware, PCI File recovery, but I think it’s just for recovering deleted files, or maybe I just can’t get it to work.
