This is a screen protection device. They sell them for PDAs, phones, portable game systems, Ipods and many more devices WATCHES and all kinds of things. For the ipod, the protector covers the whole surface except the jog wheel as the surface is so prone to scratching.

I picked one up for my Axim. I’ve been very pleased with the performance for scratch resistance. Protection has been total and complete. This is not something you have to replace. If the film gets scratched, they give you a new one when you send the old one in. The film was developed to protect military helicopter blades from abrasion.

Installation is a bit tricky, but also forgiving. They have good instructions and a movie online to help. You can start over as long as it’s still wet.

It’s not a perfect solution. It’s a bit more susceptible to glare.

They don’t claim that it offers breakage protection. I can’t prove that it does, but I have a hunch that it increases durability too as it’s such a sticky product and strong.
