I’ve seen some of you guys mention putting the smaller thumb drives in your wallet. That’s tempting but I’d rather have it on my keychain as this keeps me from being able to get very far if I forget it.
I bought a 4Gb drive last spring and took it to class all of maybe three times before I left it plugged into the PC when I left. Never did get it back.
My concern with it being in my pocket is that sooner or later it will take a dunk with me in the local river. I’m sure water logging the inside would ruin it (at least if I use it while its still wet) I’m not so sure about getting the contacts wet.
Looking around for full protection I’ve seen news bits about Sandisk releasing a waterproof model but I’ve yet to see it. Kingston has a sealed titanium clad model but its 3” long which sounds a bit big.
I’ve also thought it might be easier to find a waterproof case for a nice small drive but I haven’t seen anything that would work for that.
Thoughts?
