    Keymaster

Like many of you, I probably spend way too much time thinking about interesting ways to organize my keys. I was browsing one of my favorite sites for random parts, McMaster Carr, and found a bunch of interesting parts that could be used for keeping your keys and keychain tools together. Thought I’d share.

    Binding Posts
Think of them as key shackles without the shackle. I use something very similar on my keys.

    Chain Links
I’ve seen a few people use master links to hold their keys together. McMaster has a ton of different chain parts in a variety of materials.

    Clevis Pins
I haven’t tried these yet, but I have a few on order that I’m planning on playing with.

    Shackles
McMaster has bunch of shackles, including some double shackles that might be interesting (keys on one side, tools on the other). Also check out their assortment of swivels.

    Conventional Keychains
Found a bunch of interesting “normal” key holders, too. I’m kind of intrigued by the locking key holders (but where to put the key for my keychain?).

For the record, this is what my keys look like today. Really compact, but always looking for more ways to optimize…

Anyways, I could spend hours looking at parts on McMaster Carr. I love how they have exact measurements for all parts, so you can make sure things fit before you buy them.

Can’t wait to see what you creative people come up with!
