As a firefighter, it is our job to be prepared. We carry all kinds of tools/tricks/etc. on us and in our bunker gear. To all the other firefighters on here, how have you “tricked out” your tools and/or how do you carry them?

Some guys in my department have taken a small section of old LDH (Large Diameter Hose, typically 4″) and stitched (or duck taped) that they’ve turned it into a carryall for their items they keep in the bunker pants pocket.

I have, for lack of having a small section of LDH, created a duck-taped version that I keep a window punch, plug-man pliers, Bad-@$$ Fire Shearers (jokingly called that to rout medical terms, they’re just trauma shearers ;) ) and a few other items. I would post a picture, but it’s too embarrassing. As I am still new to this website and the formal notion of “EDC” I have found out about Skinth and think these are great. I am considering purchasing one as a better option to keep my tools in my bunker pants (they provide a quick/ready access, needed in our profession).

I know there are other firefighter websites out there dedicated to the notion of “What’s in your pockets”, but none really (that I know of) from the EDC point of view. So, I’d love to hear your input, thoughts, pictures and ideas.

Also, as a promoted Driver/Engineer, and finding this website I just bought my first Maxpedition Fatty Organizer to use for my EDC items as a DE. I only have a few items in it so far, but here it is.

I apologize if there is already a post like this, I checked and couldn’t find one. I think this forum/website is outstanding and I really love the camaraderie and friendliness. I am really looking forward to hearing from my brothers. Cheers!
