My Karrimor Delta 25 came in today, so I figured I might as well type up a short-ish review of the pack for those interested, since there seems to be so little information on the pack. At this point I won’t put up any photos, since the details of the pack itself are very, very unremarkable. What you see in the marketing material is literally what you get.

The marketing claims a capacity of 25 liters which seems close to the mark. The Delta is very similar in size to my Synapse 25, probably even being a touch larger. The pack itself has almost no organization to speak of. There is the main sack, a small zippered pouch and a pouch for hydration bladders inside the main sack, a zippered compartment outside, and two side mesh pockets. There are no pen slots, no PALS webbing, nada. It is a drastically different design compared to the Synapse 25. The Delta would definitely need to rely on the bag-in-bag approach towards organization.

Initial loadup is comfortable, with a few things to note. The shoulder straps are more on a yoke design, with the pack then attached to the yoke. The top of the pack is cinched down to the shoulder straps. The yoke is interesting, consisting of two very thick padded foam strips running down the pack, leaving a channel in the middle. Putting on the pack, I feel only the two strips of foam touching either side of my spine. While some packs claim to have an air channel design to help with venting, the Delta is so far the first I’ve seen that seems to do this convincingly. We’ll see what happens with the pack under load.

Personally, I’m torn on the pack. It fixes all the complaints I have about the Synapse 25 (what few there are), but the lack of organization will be challenging. If only they made the HAWG larger by around 5 liters or so then that would be the best of all worlds…
