Just done one of these for a flashlight, thought it worth a shot for a watch too. I’m new to the world of watches, got a G-Shock GA-200RG-1AER from Bkkrs a while back and like it, but want something more professional looking and am prepared to spend a little more.

Those of you big into watches should consider writing a question list like the flashlight one, but here are my wants:

-Analog dial.

-Minimalist design, subtle, low profile (everything the G-shock is not!) suitable for formal events, business attire etc.

-Good illumination, don’t care how it’s done (backlight on the g-shock is woeful).

-Time, Date, Stopwatch are musts, alarm would be nice, any other features are bonuses but unlikely to excite me.

-Waterproofing & ruggedness is a must, I wouldn’t brand myself as clumsy, but I spend a lot of my free time outdoors or working in my garage and the state of my jewellery and the aforementioned G-shock would suggest I regularly angle grind my hands/wrists. Will be in shower, mud, sea, etc. and would love to be able to pass it down to kids eventually, so tough as nails please.

-Not essential, but would make me happy if possible: Solar power/eco-drive/some kind of self charging system.
