Picked up a new watch today which I like, but noticed something and can’t figure it out. Above the seconds display is a box with an array of LEDs, but I have no idea what they mean (if anything) and that’s driving me nuts.

After half an hour on Google, I realized I didn’t even really know how to describe the question, so I turn to you, my friends. Please help.

Additional Info:
the pattern changes in accord with the seconds display, and repeats every 10 seconds (so 01 will display the same pattern as 11).
