First off, I know this is a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison, with the Fenix being a GPS watch and the Core being an ABC, but hear me out..

I’m looking for a multi-function (ABC) digital watch, and though I don’t expressly need GPS capabilities, there are other features of the Fenix that I like.

Here’s what I like about each model:
Core: Far better looking (IMO), slightly slimmer and lighter, which is good for my small wrists, proven ABC functions and works well as a simple watch for day-to-day use.

Fenix: Add-on capabilities like HRM and external temp sensor are things I would use, GPS not so much but it would be cool to have the ability, seems like a lot more bang-for-the-buck, easier to read display (even though I like the black negative display better).

Obviously I’m just scratching the surface on the capabilities of these watches, but for my intended use, which is primarily as a time piece but also ABC/GPS capabilities for weekend trips, backpacking etc, those are the features I’m most interested in.

Price difference to me is negligible, with the Fenix costing about $50 more than the Core Crush, and slightly cheaper than the Core Alu (which is my favorite model).

    Let me know your thoughts!
