KeymasterEveryone I am asking for some advice and recommendations for pens/pencils for an office atmosphere. My current pen is a Pilot Precise V5RT, and every week I manage to break the pocket clip on them due to being plastic in design and nature. For my daily/pencil use, I was using the same pen but thinking about picking up some Cap-O-Matics due to the V5RT plastic design.
I have looked into the Rotring 600 ($$$), Retro 51’s Hex-o-matic (potential quality/build issues on a review), Zebra’s Sharbo X (not sure if it takes V5 ink), and Zebra F300-700s (not sure if it takes v5 ink), but am looking into all my options before making a decision.
Requirements and desirable qualities as follows:
- Retractable by click/button action preferred, but will settle for twist (No capped pens since I manage to loose them).
- Matching sets/designs just to keep the same uniformity (just prefer things to look similar).
- Metal in construction/design (rugged, reliable, etc as I can be rough with pens due to project locations, travel, etc).
- Use of Precise V5/V7 refills preferred (Grown to love the V5RT and the ink flow/characteristics/etc on paper within office).
- Pencils in 0.5mm preferred, but can settle for 0.7mm if necessary. (0.5 is supplied by work)
- Budget of roughly $60-70 since that is maximum, but flexible.
If the above items have been addressed somewhere else, please let me know. I look forward to hearing some recommendations based on everyone’s previous uses.
