So, I checked ks to see if there were any new pen offerings (http://j.mp/Pens_ks) and noticed the Antares Click pen, which Michael Shue brought to kickstarter. It’s currently a clipless customizable pen, where you can pick the pledge level to choose from a variety of barrel materials, such as resins, wood burls, Tru-Stone and M3 metals. You can learn a little about the materials for the last two sets of options at the following links: http://www.metalpenblanks.com/catalog.htm and http://www.rtresearch.net/rtresearch/RT%20Cat.htm
The other parts of the pens can be aluminum, brass, copper or stainless steel, and the pen will also have parts to be able to convert it for use with Parker style refills as well. And he says he’s attempting to make it handy for Pilot V5 and Schmidt rollerball refills.
You can get to the kickstarter page here to check it out: http://j.mp/TheAntaresClickPen_ks
Just thought it was cool that he’s a penturner who’s letting folks choose what materials to use for their pens, so they can be sorta personalized. Whatcha think of the deal? In this thread, he says a clip is still a question mark, but maybe that means he’s still working on that option? And I wasn’t sure how durable/scratch resistant the pen materials are; are folks here familiar with Tru-Stone or M3 Metals?
