I am looking for a good solution for a small notebook to carry in my back pocket.
I picked up a 3 pack of the Composition Books that are 3.25″ x 4.5″
Its nice and small, but borderline too small. I like that they are dirt cheap, but worry they wont hold up.
I cut out some card stock to Moleskine/Field Notes size (3.5″ x 5.5″) and that allllmost seems too large, but I think I could get used to it and the extra size could come in handy. Certainly more options at this size.

But as I said, I have noticed that after just a week of carry, the Composition book is getting a bit warn and I fear its not going to last.
So, I am torn on getting a leather cover for it like this one. (seems to be the best/cheapest I can find)
    Rustic River Leather 3.25×4.5″ Cover

Or getting a better quality notebook like a Moleskine, Ecosystems, or Rhodia.
I like the Ecosystems hardback, that seems like it would hold up well, but would the hardback be too stiff and uncomfortable in the back pocket?

If I get something like the Ecosystem or Rhodia would they hold up to daily carry or will I will need a cover?

Would love to hear options from those that have experience with back pocket carry.
    Thanks.
