Keymaster(This is also cross posted on another forum as well, but I wanted to show Syph’s work to some who perhaps do not visit the other forum too)
In my ongoing sickness to obtain much more Alox than I could ever use in my remaining lifetime, I contacted Syph to again do his thing. I was lamenting the fact that my favorite 93mm, the Electrician, is only available in silver. And the other issue is, as everyone knows, the older Elinox and Elsener blades are better. Common knowledge. Also, I needed to combine my fondness of the traditional easy open pattern, and alox.
As seen in the first photo, Syph was able to solve both those issues for me quite nicely.
But then I was left with the problem of not having a backup red Electrician, and naturally a two bladed EO was also required. So Syph was again needed to correct these issues. As in the bottom pic.
The blade on the two bladed EO had seen much “experience” in it’s life, apparently being driven through bricks or something, so Syph was able to get the edge back in service for me as well. He was even able to keep the hollow rivet on the old 62. Awesome.
I know perhaps with some of these older models it may be wiser to have them intact, but I figure it’s better to play with them now, rather than leave them in a drawer for my estate auction in the future. Lol. This made me wonder if a casket of alox could be done. That’d be pretty cool. Or maybe the headstone. Sweet!
Next anodizing Syph has done, the remaining concern of no red two bladed EO will have to be addressed. And of course we will need to discuss the lack of black models too. Much to do.
Thanks for your help Syph! Such an enabler.
