I think that’s the phrase I’m looking for anyway. I’m currently using a gerber recoil which I quite like. It has the tools I want and nothing I don’t need. There are a couple of issues – I carry it loose in my pocket and if anyone knows the design of the recoil, I’m a safety switch away from from having some sensitive areas impaled by a set of pliers. Also I understand the recoil is a bit of a rarity so I’d rather retire it before I kill it (or it kills me !).

The outboard is a must though, I’m often working in the dark or low light and in a hurry so I don’t want to open it up every time I need a knife or (ideally anyway) a full size Phillips screwdriver.
