Hey everyone,
Here in Ontario, Canada, we can get away with carrying a folding knife; I’m not sure what the blade limit is, but to err on legality’s side, I’ll hazard a guess of three inches. I currently carry a wood handled folder (with brass ends) that my father gave to me. He’s had it since I was a kid, and I cherish it for that alone. It’s probably a no name brand knife, though solid enough and fairly sturdy and sharp.
However, it’s a bit clunky and clumsy. I’m an on-and-off farm hand, and am seeking advice from anyone here who dwells or works in the country for a good folding knife that’s suitable for EDCing around town or city, for ordinary tasks, but which is also suited to things you might need to do on a farm, like: lop the tops off of veggies; cut twine; kill a chicken?; cut cloth; peel fruit…etc.
I’m seeking something strong and sharp, but maneuverable, without an overlarge blade. Smooth blades are my preference, though if there’s a small serrated section, that’s alright. Comfortable handles sought, and a belt clip is always nice. Decent looking, preferably not more that 40-ish dollars.
If anyone has ideas based on what they’ve tried, I’d love to hear them. Thanks kindly!
