Hey guys and gals, I recently acquired my CCW ($10 for 4 years seemed like a worthwhile investment at the time) but after trying a few different holsters, I’ve decided that my sp2022 just doesn’t fit me very well (I’m 5’6 and ~150lbs). I’ve stopped by a few local gun shops looking for something different for everyday carry, and really liked the gp100 (oddly enough, it fit me fairly nicely without printing, oddly enough). After doing a bit more research, it seems like the sp101 is every bit as rugged, but a little leaner since it only holds 5 shots.

I’ve always been a big fan of revolvers, and call me crazy, but the S&W wheelguns I’ve tried just didn’t win me over. While .38+p seems more than adequate for self defense, I like having the option to load .357 as well. I’ve fired the gp100 with a 3″ barrel, but I’m leaning toward the sp101 in 2.5″ (again, size is a big concern). Handling the gp100 with hot loads of .38special and ‘standard’ loads of .357 wasn’t any more of an issue than with my sp2022, so I’m no more concerned about accuracy than I would be with any other gun.

So, to finish rambling and get to the point: Does anyone have first-hand experience with one who’d be willing to share, or any advice for someone who’s new to concealed carry?
