KeymasterI’m on my 5th Glock, a Gen 4 Glock 19 this time around. I’ve bought, traded, and sold more times than I want to recall and taken some pretty embarrassing losses over the years doing so. One big trend that I’ve found is that Glocks and 1911s always find their way into my possession, Glocks more so than anything.
Some of you guys might remember that I had made a thread back in February or so about what pistol I should pick up next. I settled on a PPQ. Loved it. Now, it’s gone!
No, I don’t miss it. It was a nice pistol, it felt great, I loved the trigger. But then I picked up my friend’s Glock 23. For some reason, a Glock fits my hand better than any pistol on this planet. The much hated angle is the perfect angle for my purposes. The outstandingly designed ergonomics of the PPQ strangely enough just don’t work in my hand like the simple ergos of the Glock. It planted the Glock seed in my brain and I came to the conclusion that I had to get one again. Without being too well off, I chose to part with the PPQ to get back where I belong.
The point of the thread isn’t that Glock is the best or that other pistols just don’t hold up. The PPQ was just as good as the Glock, better in some areas as well. But the pistol that works best for me is a Glock. They’ve always worked for me better than other pistols. When gripping and drawing a pistol feels like a perfect handshake every time and shooting tight groups with it comes as naturally as writing your own name, chances are it’s the right pistol for you.
So, it’s back to Glock for me – AGAIN!
