KeymasterEDIT: The pistol has been purchased, and I picked the Walther PPQ! I can see why so many of you recommended it! What a great pistol!
Only a few years ago I had a ton of pistols to choose from. SIG, CZ, Glock, Springfield, Colt, Beretta… But the economy finally caught up to me and I had to seriously cut back. I sold most of what I had for bills, and then sold even more to help my now wife pay for her dream wedding. Since then, I’ve been down to my old childhood Ruger Mk. II for cheap plinking and my Glock 26 Gen 4 for carry and I’m looking to add another pistol to my line up soon.
The contenders are:
CZ 75 P-01. Had this pistol in the past and it handled so well it’s insane. It absolutely killed my SIG P228 in overall performance (at least in my hands) with the exception of it’s trigger. Wonderful pistol.
Glock 23 Gen 4. Never owned a Gen 4 Glock 23, but the first pistol I ever purchased for myself was a Glock 23 Gen 3. I loved it and shot extremely well with it.
Walther PPQ. I’ve only gotten to hold one so far and I love the way it feels, particularly it’s trigger. Very nice, looks like it can hold it’s own with the others mentioned.
S&W M&P45c. I really like this pistol in hand. Roughly the size of a Glock 19 packing 8+1 rounds of .45 ACP. The trigger doesn’t have as nice a reset as a Glock in my opinion, but I know I could get used to it and I like everything else about it.
I do like the HK P30 and the SIG P229E2, but both are out of my budget for now.
What do you guys think? Experience with the second two pistols would be greatly appreciated. I like ALL of these pistols a lot. They all feel great in hand. I just can’t decide which I like the most and it’s driving me crazy!
