Prior to yesterday, my sig 229 stainless elite was my carry weapon. If you’ve seen this gun, it’s literally like 5 lbs. or close to it with a full mag., beautiful but heavy. I ignored the fact that it’s heavy as hell because it shoots so nice. Well, needless to say, after a pickup (I’m a bondsman) where the person jumped out of a window and I had to chase him through 2 miles of saw palmetto (SW Florida’s version of briars or similar nasty sharp scrub bushes), all the while with a 5 lbs “dumbbell” banging on my waist…I decided I need something more practical to carry! Ended up with the S&W MP40C, after 200 rounds yesterday at the range, I’m in LOVE with this thing! I can’t believe how smooth it shoots, how comfortable it is to shoot for a subcompact, and how light it is to carry! Though after the 229 SE, ANYTHING would feel light! After being converted in person I think I might look into doing what another member here did and move everything over to a single format …the M&P! I still prefer .40 to 9mm, but I might very well be following suit behind Rolex John!
