KeymasterHey Gang
Sorry I have not been around lately , but work both full and part time has been keeping me busy. Floods in Texas , Idiots driving in Dallas and folks shooting each other , let alone attacking the Police HQ.In Any Case, I finally got both of the knives I ordered from Dan Koster, Koster Knives in Bentonville AR. He is a one man operation , so it takes awhile, but the wait is well worth it. I wanted a set that I would carry , whether Hunting , Deployed for Wilderness SAR , USAR, or the proverbial Protect Hearth and Home Scenario. In Short, a Always Carry with Me, and I feel like Dan came through
First is the Fixed Blade, it is the Koster MUCK (My Ultimate Camp Knife) it is full tang with a 6″ Blade of CPM 3V Steel that is .220 thick. As you can see it has a Flat Grind , a Swedge , and some Jimping on the spine. The Handle is made of Black & Tan G10 with Yellow Liners. It’s just a great design for all around use, and the handle shape is super comfortable, with no hand hot spots after lots of use.
Second is the Folder, Dan has had a following for his Fixed Bushcrafter, so after a lot of thinking, testing , re thinking and more testing. He came up with a Bushcrafter Folder. It has a 3.7″ Blade made of CPM 3V Steel that is .120 thick, it has a 13 Degree Scandi Grind. The Blade Spine has Jimping and a 90 Degree edge to make the use of striking a FIre Steel easy. Titainium Liners with a full length Liner Lock. This Knife locks up tight with No shake, and can do all Bushcrafting that’s asked of it. The Handle is Black & Tan G10 with a Super Comfortable shape.
Thanks for taking a look , and tell me what ya think ……… Sutty -
