    Hi,

I’m about to buy a larger (111mm) Victorinox knife for EDC carry (I want to put my Vic Huntsman as a backup knife into Maxpedition Mini Organizer I carry in my EDC bag). My three choices are these – and I’m asking for your opinions:
    – Victorinox Forester
    – Victorinox Outrider
    – Victorinox Hercules

My requrements – what I really want it to have is this:
    – blade (duh :)), locking, preferably linerlock (I trust it more) – not serrated, just plain edge
    – wood saw
    – can opener
    – reamer
    – corkscreaw opener

For these requirements I found a Victorinox Forester which I almost already bought, but … I realized that one thing I like about my Vic Huntsman are the scissors. So, I kept looking and learned about Victorinox Outrider, which is basically Forester but with scissors (and Phillips screwdriver), but with slide lock safety (and buliker of course). And then, after seeing some YT reviews, I realized what I miss on my Huntsman are pliers – so I bumped into Victorinox Hercules, which is basically Outrider with small pliers (and another Phillips screwdriver lol), but again with slide lock safety (and even buliker this time).

    So, generally:
The main pros of my original choice, the Forester, are the fact it contains my must-have tools, has a liner-lock safety and is not bulky.
The pros of those other two are the added scissors or scissors+pliers, but have the slide lock safety and are much bulier (especially the Hercules looks dang large).

What’s your opinion? Is the slide lock as reliable as liner-lock? Is the Hercules too large to carry it every day in pants pocket? Are the pliers even worthy? Other suggestions? What would you prefer? :)

PS: One more thing, just as I am thiking this through – I could buy Sentinel Clip and swap scales with the Forester. But that I couldn’t do with Outrider or Hercules because of the slidelock. Scratch that – the Sentinel does NOT have a corkscrew opener so the scales wouldn’t be swappable at any of those knives.
