Starting my first thread, so bear with me. I scanned back over the last 10 pages and couldn’t find what I was looking for.

I work in a rural county and on any given day I’m doing interviews and follow up in a variety of locales and conditions, all of which get written down on your basic 8 1/2″ x 11 3/4″ yellow legal pad.

I’d like a zippered nylon case, that will hold:
    -a full size legal pad
-a few nice pens (G2’s are my definition of nice)
-a few throw away Bic pens
-Have a pocket for business cards,
-Hold odds/ends and some loose forms.
    Does such a thing exist?

I like the look and style of the “Tactical Notebook Covers”, but no one seems to make them full size for legal pads. I’d prefer not to use leather as I am not the shirt and tie type. I wear Carhartt’s, polos, and Merrells every day. I’d also prefer to avoid the “Trapper Keeper” junior high look of cheap nylon and gimmicky bells and whistles. I don’t need handles, excess exterior flaps/buckles, or MOLLE lopps. Just a solid basic cover.

I’ve tried the metal posse boxes, but the clips get bent, loose their spring, the soft aluminium lids get tweaked, after awhile the hinges don’t line up, and it’s a metal box that bangs and clangs whenever you set it down or toss it on the seat next to you.

I’d also be open to using a standard 6″ x 9″ steno pad if any suggestions for that should be presented. I started on stenos, but over time just gravitated toward legal pads.
