I sent my Peak Logan 123 into the maker for a Gen2 QTC upgrade. Despite having hundreds of cycles over the past year of almost daily EDC it just seemed to make sense ($6 for shipping is all it cost). I’ve been switching off between my ZL SC51, Macs SST50 EDC, and a P60 Javelin/C2h hybrid.

The problem is these lights are great for normal inside/outside use but horrible for getting around without disturbing a sleeping spouse. The Zebralight is by far the best with a true moonlight mode but in pitch darkness .2 lumens might as well be a solar flare (hyperbole). That and the UI, while awesome, often results in a max brightness click instead of the .2 lumens one. Reflexes tend to wake up slower than the mind. :p

For you moonlight aficionados what is your favorite “sub-moonlight light”?

Luckily I’ve been able to fall back on my 40DD pendant light which reliably flickers on at about a match head glow and smoothly ramps to whatever I want. How we tend to acclimate ourselves to geeky “necessities”, right? :) The Peak will be welcomed with open arms.
