I’m very interested in this light, but can only find basic information, or way too much, however I can’t seem to answer a basic question.

I’m new to these lights and capabilities, but want the AA / 123A versatility this unit provides. However, will I need. Special cell in order to reach the specced 500 lumens? Or will a AA also allow me to get there?

Any help here is appreciated as I try to learn.
