I am trying to ramp up to an Elk Hunting trip in the next two or three years. In the mean time, I am trying to learn a lot, develop my skills, and gear up over time. I am looking at a Rush 72 pack. I know that a lot of people on here love it, but I am wondering if it is big enough and sturdy enough for an Elk Hunting excursion. I would need to haul 3 days worth of gear in to the mountains, plus if I am successful, use it in part to haul meat out. Is it sturdy enough for a task like that, or do I need to look at a dedicated frame-type pack?

Also, I am looking at the Rush Tier rifle carry add on as well if I need to keep both hands free while walking. Anyone have experience with that? Is it as excellent as advertised or mostly gimmicky?

I found some places online offer the single color versions of the Rush 72 cheaper than the camo versions. For those of you that have the bag, and have been in that part of the country, would an olive drab or desert tan be somewhat suited for blend in duty, or is it worth the extra cash to get a camo bag?
