Since I found Vanquest I have ordered quite a few of their products. I do not work for them, and have paid either full price or utilized one of their sales. All of my orders have been through their website, and I have not experienced any issues at all. I feel their clamshellorganizers are superior to maxped due to internal organization, which is their main selling point. Materials and assembly are as good or better than maxped.

I currently have the PPM in Slim and Husky, the EDCM in Slim, Husky and Huge, and the FITM Husky.

This comparison will focus on the largest, the EDCM Husky, Huge and the FITM Husky. I will do other comparisons of the PPM line and likey compare the EDCM Slim and Husky with the maxped edc and fatty since I have all 4.

I have had the EDCM Husky for 6 months, and recently got the EDCM Huge and the FITM Husky during their black Friday sale.

As a disclaimer of sorts, none of these could be easily used in a pocket, they are just too big. They would work better as a small stand alone pack, or for organization inside of a larger bag. All of them can be attached to anything with molle, but since the EDCM both open sideways I would say that they would not be a good choice for that. The FITM opens downwards, so it could be employed on the outside of a bag.

The EDCM Husky was originally purchased to make an outdoors kit, to place inside of a BOB. It contains various fire starting, water purification, and other “in the woods” specific items. It constantly changes as I learn more and find other/better solutions. Pics show the loadout, if you have any questions feel free to ask!

My purpose of purchasing the EDCM Huge and FITM Husky was increased space for future expansion. The Huge is an inch wider and half an inch thicker. The FITM is a completely different style that I wanted to tryout.

    Initial impressions: EDCM Huge

    – larger than the husky, well made (as usual for all of the vanquest products)
    – has very similar internal organization to the husky
    – added zipper pocket on the right side

    FITM Husky

    – very similar to some of the Personal FAK pouches around, except larger
    – also very well made
    – not sure how I was going to use it (and I still am)

So I moved all of the contents of the Husky into the Huge. Same layout so doing this was not difficult. At this point I was not very impressed, as the extra inch in width and half inch in thickness did not seem to offer any benefit over the Husky.

As you can see the extra inch of width on the left side did not do much for the loadout, slightly more room between items but no really improvement. On the right side the extra inch is lost as it just provides access to the zipper pouch. And since I have the right side full the zipper pouch really does not have much space available. Might function for flat items, some info/reference papers that have been scaled to fit and laminated?

In all fairness the Husky is jammed full in this loadout, but still functions just fine. With this loadout the Huge did not offer much improvement for organization or much extra storage.

    Conclusion, Husky vs Huge:

The addition of the zip pouch is a plus, and the additional inch of with and half inch of thickness does not really make the Huge massive. The Huge is 7 dollars more than the Husky (currently). Knowing what I know now, I would buy the Huge over the Husky. Both are big, but the Huge is worth the extra cost for what it offers. My loadout is specific and different items would likely fit and leave more space available in the Huge. The Huge has 140 cubic inches internal volume and the Husky has 96 cubic inches. That is half as much again, but may not translate into as big of a difference as my example illustrates.

Here is a side by side, the Huge is empty so not the best comparison with the full Husky. Just figured people love pics!
