I finally got around to making a video for my EDC keychain survival kit tin, that I’ve concocted from an Altoids Smalls candy tin [that I have weatherproofed, clamped shut, and added an attachment hole to]:
[Click the “YouTube” logo in the lower right, to open a pop-up window to watch there directly (instead of the embedded form here in our forum), if you want access to the links to my other videos I mention.]
As I stress in the video, the small tin isn’t used alone, but is part of survival kit system which includes the rest of my key-chain homemade devices, wallet, and watch, too, so I can easily have all of this on me every time I leave the house. [As opposed to only carrying a survival kit on days I “expect” to have a disaster strike or emergency situation. Ha-ha.]
[Nothing shown here on my survival keychain is “stock”; everything is at least somewhat modified by me or has hidden tricks]:
Here’s the internal stuff of the Altoids Smalls tin laid out. Please keep in mind this tin is a fraction of the size of a regular Altoids tin, so many common items you usually see in such full-sized kits, like for example a MINI BIC lighter, simply can’t fit:
The internal dimensions are 2 1/8 inches W x 1 3/8 inches H x 1/2 inch D, with rounded off corners.
