So I’ve been seeing the idea of a truck gun/trunk gun that you leave in your vehicle all the time. it lets you carry something bigger or with more reach than your regular EDC, since you don’t have to hide it quite as well.

Assuming we live in a jurisdiction that allows it, I’m looking for suggestions on what to carry and how. I was thinking one of those Kel tec rifles that fold up, but they are rare in these parts, and used ones go for 2x the new ones.

I want something with more punch than the small 380 or 9mm that I EDC, and relatively quick access. Discreet trumps quick access, so I’m not looking to mount an old school gun rack or anything like that. A shotgun takes up more room than an AR, but slugs seem like a good thing to have available. an AR taken apart is smaller to store, but would take some putting together in a pinch.

In the mean time while i look and shop, what do you have in the trunk or wedged under the seat?
