Does anyone make a right angle adapter for the body or bezel of Surefire E series flashlights? Would there be much demand for such an adapter?
Background
I have Surefire’s E1L and E2L flashlights and was thinking of ways to use them hands-free. They are great lights and feature a clip which can be used to attach the lights to a hat brim. I am looking for alternatives to head lamp or hat lamp solutions. Head bands give me a headache and a hat weighted by a flashlight on the brim keeps slipping down.
Possibilities
– Employ a right angle reflector, perhaps a mirror inside a rubber elbow, which fits over the end of the bezel. This would be similar to Surefire’s color and diffusion filters which are easy to install and remove. If the end of the right angle adapter had a 1 inch outer diameter, one could install a Surefire filter onto the adapter.
– Screw a right angle adapter between the bezel and the flashlight body. I’ve not seen such an adapter. One limitation would be that the Surefire belt clip is immobile. When the flashlight is clipped to a shirt pocket (or PALS webbing), the flashlight should shine light directly ahead.
