Not a carry gun but here it goes. (Forgive me if this has been covered)
As a general rule this gun is strictly for home defense and competition (if I ever decide to try my hand at that). With the exception of occasional open carry from time to time.
So for about 2-3years I’ve been a proud owner of a Gen 4 Glock 17. It’s like a good friend that I’m “growning up” with. Was my first semi-auto pistol and I’m kinda attached to it as every thing I’ve learned/improved on my pistol shooting skills was done with this gun.
Now Glock has come out with the 17 MOS and I’m wondering if I should trade up to put an optic on. I think it would be a nice addition for HD as I, girlfriend, family member, or maybe even the dog could pick it up in the dark and shoot just as accurately as if it were broad daylight. I was even considering a 34 MOS for the same reasons.
Then I got to thinking why not just throw a laser on it and be done. Or maybe some tritium sights. Or heck why not do both.
I’d like to hear what your guy’s and gal’s thoughts are on the situation. I thought that maybe some of you might even be in the same situation or have some experience with these accessories. I had a cheapo red dot (reflex style) on a 22 once, other than that and scopes it has been plain old iron sights (the non glowing variety) for me.
Thanks!!!
