Amazing mail call from South Africa! Willem O’Kelly from K’roo Knives really knocked this out of the park! I always feel that many “custom” knives are not real customs because you can at best chose from a few patterns and handle materials. With Willem you can just throw an idea or a rough drawing at him and he will work with it. I saw a cool knife on his FB page that he made a couple of years ago and asked if he could make it as a sheepsfoot. He made a few modifications and this is the result! The current trend is more towards very thin slipjoints but this one is chunky! 5/8 through the pivot with a 2.6 inch blade from 1/6 stock. The coolest features in my opinion are the thick brass liners and the unground part around the nail pull. It also often bothers me that most traditional knifes have this sharp corner at the end of the blade’s spine that is exposed when closed. Here the handle is shaped to conceal it. It feels smooth like a river rock in the hand!
