I just recently purchased a ZT0450 and was comparing it to a couple of my other knives, I couldn’t help but notice how similar in size it is to my Kershaw Leek. I thought I would do an actual comparison to see how similar they actually are.

The ZT0450 and Kershaw Leek are almost the same size and weight closed, but open the ZT0450 is a little longer because of its .25in longer blade. The ZT0450 has a little wider and thicker blade cmpared to the leek but still not real beefy compared to some knives. The lock-up on the ZT0450 is tighter with no play in the blade. The Leek is assisted opening which is nice, but the ZT0450 opening is smooth. For lefties, the ZT0450 has the option of right or left-handed tip-up clip where as the Leek just has tip-up or tip-down. So the big question between the two is whether the money difference, which is significant, is worth it?

    Actual specs:
    ZT0450 / Kershaw Leek
    Blade Length: 3.25 / 3
    Length Closed: 4.1 / 4
    Open length: 7.4 / 7
    Weight: 2.9 / 3
    Blade: S35VN / Sandvik 14C28N
Opening: Manual open flipper, KVT ball-bearing system / SpeedSafe assisted opening flipper & thumb screw
Cost: can be found for $160 / $30

The Leek is the iridescent knife and the ZT0450 is the center.
