New to the forum, but been a lurker for a while.

I was wondering if anyone knows about GPS devices that only display where you are with a coordinate rather than a map, which can sometimes not have as much information as a paper map, or in some cases having the wrong information. I can easily translate the coordinates to a paper map for navigation, and don’t need all the bells and whistles of some GPS units out there.

I really just want to know if this exists in a portable form for, say, backpacking. I can get specifics later if they do.
