KeymasterWhy stipple?
December 27, 2025 at 1:13 pm #143133admin
KeymasterI didn’t know it was done by companies. Everything I’ve ever seen posted was done by the owner.

KeymasterNo offence to the OP, but I’ve never understood the need for stippling. There are so many good options out there that don’t destroy the original integrity of the gun that it seems like a poor use of money. If it’s a matter of just gaining a better grip, cut up an old bicycle tube and wrap that around the grip. Cost = $0.

KeymasterI believe ptarms (.com) offers stippling.

Glockwork, L&M Precision, there are quite a few. Might join a local gun forum and ask around if someone local does and see their work firsthand. I had L&M do grip texture, different from traditional stippling, when I had my G19 built. I had another local guy stipple my stock G19 but with long cuts rather than the usual dot pattern.Spray Grip Texture after shaved and finger grooves removed by L&M Precision.

KeymasterIMO stippling offers a great improvement in feel, and requires very little investment and time to get good results from a D.I.Y. effort.
I have done a couple of pistols, and have been very pleased with the results. Just make sure to plan what you want ahead of time, and go slow and patient.December 27, 2025 at 1:14 pm #143138admin
KeymasterAs was already mentioned, there are several places that do good work if you would rather pay for it, I’ll add Cold Bore Solutions (if I’m recalling their name correctly) to the list.

KeymasterThe term “best” is subjective. ATEi does good work or DIY.
I did a batch of pmags. Pop in a movie and go to town.

Some people prefer checkering, some prefer no extra gripping material. And there are some who enjoy the stippled effect the best. We all have our own preferences. And concerning integrity, since you can order many guns WITH custom stippling, id say it must not do much integrity wise. All youve done is void the warranty, which… If you havent fired it enough to void the warranty already, then you really dont know if you need stippling anyways. So its a matter of opinion and preference.Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

KeymasterI have thought a lot about doing this myself, but it scared the hell out me. As of now I am using “Talon” grip tape and I am very happy with it. I need my grip to be bigger…not smaller :p

Very true. To each their own.

I’m pretty positive stippling does not void any warranties. You are only altering the frame.

Any modifications to the frame such as stippling and grip reductions will void the warranty.http: //us.glock .com/customer-service/glock-warranty
LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTY
The warranty will be void if any of the following occur:
The instructions in the Instructions for Use manual are not followed;
Your GLOCK pistol or any of its parts are altered or modified from their original state;
Damage is caused by misuse, abuse or improper maintenance;
Your GLOCK pistol is disassembled beyond the instruction in Chapter 9 of the Instructions for Use manual; or
Reloaded, remanufactured, or handloaded ammunition, or ammunition of a different caliber than your GLOCK pistol is used.

It does void it as far as I know. And if it is anywhere similar to my kimber warranty, even firing custom loads voids the warramty, so thats really not saying much.If you want it stipled, I say stiple the :censored: out of it! Some good companies that do it, but for what my opinion is worth, some of the guys here on EDCF have the best looking stipling I’ve seen. Im sure quite a few can give great tips. Check the Handgun Pics thread – there are some excellently done glocks in there that looked professionally done.
