So before I get into the details of what I am looking for, I just want to say that I have read over and over that the key to finding a handgun for concealed carry is finding one that works for you and that is the gun you should stick with. Well I have been to a few gun shops and will be going to the range soon to try out a few different guns. The thing is I was hopping for a bit of input from you all on what guns I ought to rent and shoot.

What I am looking for is
1) Something compact (nothing super small like the m&p shield)
2) Nothing larger than a Glock 19
3) Clip size of at least 10 rounds
4) 9mm
5) Reliable (this is one of the most important things for me)

External safeties and decocker don’t matter all that much for me, and I am not interested in revolvers.

Guns I have looked at and am considering are the Glock 19, and the H&K USP Compact. I would love to try out some others though so that when I do find a handgun that I like, I know I have tried enough to know that it is one I can stick with.

What do you guys recommend? What pistols should I try out before making a final decision?

Also, why do people seem to like sig so much? I don’t know much about them but every time I hear them mentioned people speak highly of them.
