hi! would love to hear on first person experiences woth keychain multitools in general. after losing my EDC gear and assorted survival stuff and tools in the aftermath of super typhoon haiyan, i’d like to rebuild it and get me some tools.

i’d already asked which SAK to replace my swiss champ, and it looks like a lock between a new swiss champ or a deluxe tinker, with an alox SAK for good measure thrown in. you can read about it here:

this isn’t a thread about bashing leatherman or gerber, or hearing from fanboys. i would like honest input from actual users, not input from people who read the reviews or from the forums. i was all set on getting a LM PS4 but just saw a review on issues where tools like scissors snap off, or even the spring. i haven’t have a dime, but i have negative experiences with gerbers in general, the only thing made by gerber i liked is the shard which i loved. i asked between the two because they are both readily available to me from my favourite online store, and may expand my search for more based on your inputs. after haiyan, i would live to have a keychain tool of some sort that i’ll carry with me all the time, not sonething i’ll leave in the house and regret it when i need it so that is why i opened this thread up. would love to hear from the forum members.
