So I am an avid gum chewer, I always have a pack of Trident on me and I probably go through at least half a dozen pieces of gum a day. But this has been a problem for me in the past because these little paper packs of gum are flimsy and when you’re out and about for the day, they get crushed, torn, and worst of all, your sweat soaks right through you pants pocket, through the pack, and into the gum. So I needed a solution.

Enter this mini pocket tin!:

This tin originally held a dozen guitar picks from Dunlop, and I just had it floating around a drawer for years. But it can fit an entire pack of Trident in it and they fit like a glove:

After carrying it for a while I decided I didn’t need that much gum on me for the day, but it wouldn’t hurt to carry some pain killers too since I get a lot of headaches. So I put up a small interior wall inside the tin where I keep pain killers.

The tin is 3-3/8″ long, 1-1/2″ wide, and 1/2″ tall. It’s half the size of an Altoids tin and could be used for numerous things, this is just an example of how I use it. These tins can be had at Guitar Center for $5 or so and they come printed with tons of different artists on them. This one is Jimmy Hendrix, but they have anything from Johnny Cash to Metallica.

I might pick up a few more of these tins and create various mini pocket tins for different occasions. Who has some other idea’s for what might fit well inside one of these?
