    Hi all,

I finished building my first FAK few months ago and would like to know what you think about it.
The kit is to be designed to be carried on occasions such as festivals or for overnight stays. I have this with me mostly any time I carry my backpack. It perfectly fits into a Rush24. I have left out a few items on purpose because they are either too bulky or can go bad on me, such as a space blanket (try unfolding one in a windy place and see what happens). There are also some items in there which wer not in it to begin with, but added them after I found I would have needed them in a situation.

Here’s a list of the contents:

    1. Band-aids:
    a) Cut-to-size standard material
    b) Smith&Nephew ‘Opsite Post-OP: They stick like hell and they’re waterproof and hypoallergenic.
    2. Steristrips, 2 sizes
    3. Self-adhering bandage
    4. Gauze pads
    5. Impregnated dressings (dont stick to wounds)
    6. Ace bandage
    7. Bandage scissors
    8. Small bottle of iodine solution
    9. Pean clamp
    10. Cotton wool, tightly packed into an ointment container
    11. Splinter tweezers
    12. Surgical hypo-allergenic gloves, packed into ointment container
    13. Small LED flashlight (might replace it with a head light some time)
    14. Small bottle of Burn-Jel
    15. wooden coffee stirrers (might be used to make a makeshift splint for fingers or – if needed to stir coffee *hehe*)
    16. SAM-Splints in 3 sizes
    17. Roll of Opsite Flexi-Fix, roughly 1 yd. (same material as the dressings mentioned in #1b, but w/o a pad on it)
    18. A few vials of saline
    19. Some 18 gauge needles & syringe
    20. Roll of medical tape
    21. Blister pads
    22. Mole skin
    23. Alcohol swabs
    24. Eye drops
    25. Safety pins
    26. Some basic medication, packed in plastic containers and labelled w/ active ingredient and maximum dose per day: Advil, Diclofenac, Antacid, Loperamide, Bisacodyl.

    Here’s a picture:

There’s also some prescription meds in the kit which I did not put on the photo. Those I carry not for me but for my girlfriend.

All this kit goes into a Maxpedition Proteus.
    I guess that’s about it.

    Any feedback will be appreciated!
